Was excited for Streets of Rage 4 but is it true you can only play 2 player online? 4 players is locked to local play? That is really disappointing.

That's a really good price. It doesn't seem like my type of game but everyone keeps telling me how good it is, so I'm going to give in eventually, but I'm going to wait for it to drop lower lol. It was $5.34, so I'm going to wait for it to inevitably drop back down at that price and then get it.

    • Just wanted to say that for existing subscribers, here is what worked for me to get the 25% discount on my annual subscription. On my PS5, I went to the Playstation Store tab and then to the 3 dots (More menu) in the top right corner. From there, i chose the "Subscriptions" option (3rd down) and then selected Playstation Plus. Next, in the bottom right corner I picked "Buy Again" and it showed my current plan with the 25% discount. Even after I added one year I can still repeat the process and buy additional years.

Hope this helps anyone who hasn't stumbled onto this yet!

    • I don't think Sony or any company makes "lofty goal" for the fun of it. The stock value dropped by about $10b after lowering PS5’s sales forecast. Sony predicts further decline this year. Let's see if the ps5 pro will help boost those sales number. Something that the slim did not.

You have to see all the numbers as a whole. It's very interesting to note that DLC content, services, and peripheral spend is up, but full-game content spend is down a little on PS5 compared to the PS4.

Sony forecasted that the PS5 would set a sales target of 25 million units in one year, which is higher than the prime PS2 days. Even in PS2's prime, they sold 22.5 million units in one year. For the PS4, their peak sales year was 20 million units sold in one year (PS5 beat the PS4 record but did not meet 25 million).

It was a lofty goal considering the Nintendo Switch is doing so well as a competitor this gen and Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sega were doing poorly in the PS2 days.

Meanwhile, Nintendo's profit from the Nintendo Switch era (2017- current year) surpasses their combined profits from 1981-2016. Even beating out the margins of the Wii + DS era.

141.4 million Nintendo Switch consoles sold and counting.
The Wii era was (104 million units sold) + Nintendo DS handheld era (152 million units sold). Streamlining their game development with the Nintendo Switch so that they do not have to make both portable and console games really helped out their bottom line and lowered their development costs because they do not have to spread out their game development resources as much as the Wii+DS era.

    • I'm not the one that's saying it, it's Sony that's not happy with the console sales numbers.

Yes, profits matters, but you have to know where it comes from so that you can adjust in the future. Right now a lot of it is from DLC and microtransactions increased spending from their good customers.

You are the one who is saying it as i don't see any evidence of your claims.

You are saying Sony is not happy that presently, it's their most profitable generation?

Doesn't matter where it comes from, especially considering that game development times are longer.

This is why you see a focus on dlc, GAAS, etc.

      Profits are profits.

Does anybody else have this problem or is $189.99 for Premium 30% off already? Yikes if it is. What price is everybody else seeing for premium and essential. I might resubscribe based on what the discounted price is.

    • People have been dooming on Xbox, but Playstation sales are stalled as well. Device discounts is a sign that the market is saturated, and there's really no 'must have' games from the past year aside from maybe Spiderman 2 (disappointing) and Helldivers.

This seems wallet safe to me, but only because I have a good library of games and backlog already.
