EURO 2024 has kicked off in style after hosts Germany thrashed Scotland 5-1 in Munich.
The hosts took the lead through Florian Wirtz on 10 minutes after a howler from Angus Gunn.
Jamal Musiala doubled his country's lead following fine work from Kai Havertz in the build-up.
Just before half-time, Havertz made it three from the penalty spot after a horror challenge from Ryan Porteous, which earned him a straight red card.
Niclas Fullkrug's thunderbolt into the top left corner made it 4-0 before an own goal from Antonio Rudiger ruined a perfect start for the hosts.
Emre Can wrapped up proceedings with seconds to go to put the Germans off to a flyer at Euro 2024.

Nagelsmann off to perfect start
Germany will face Hungary in their next match of Euro 2024.
After today's victory, they know that one more win will pretty much seal their safe passage to the next phase.
Should they manage to do just that in their next game, it gives them chance to rotate their squad and rest some of their key players.

One player in particular, Jamal Musiala, wasa thorn in the side of the Scottish defence for majority of the game.

Toni Kroos controlled the midfield for the entire time he was on the pitch against Scotland this evening.
Having announced his retirement from all forms of the game after this tournament, the Madrid playmaker will be looking to go out on a high.
If Germany are going to make their mark on this tournament, Toni Kroos could be integral to their success.

Scotland struggled to create anything in the final third of the pitch and Germany controlled the game from start to finish.
This result will dent the confidence of Steve Clarke's side, that is for sure.

It is the biggest ever winning margin in an opening game of the Euros tournament.

It was a solid header for an own goal, credit where it is due.
