Power-Outage Exercise
Please note that we are going to conduct a power-outage exercise on Camp Zama this summer to ensure we are prepared to react to any potential crisis – from earthquakes to typhoons, and everything between.

Now is the time for personal preparedness measures to mitigate power outage impacts to you and your family.

Here are some immediate tips:

  • Check all flashlights and batteries now. Avoid using candles, as they can cause fires.
  • Keep your phones and electronic devices fully charged.
  • During an outage, disconnect your appliances and electronic devices to avoid damage from any electrical surges which may occur.
  • During an outage, keep freezers and refrigerators closed.

Please continue to follow the USAG Japan Facebook page, our Commander’s Access Channel on your home television, and our weekly Community News and Information email message. We will continue to provide you ways to best prepare for and to deal with power outages.

Please note that when the exercise outage occurs, our Public Affairs team will primarily use the Facebook page to post community messaging. Thank you for your patience as we work to best support you!
